England has enlisted the expertise of a psychologist from Manchester City to bolster their Men's T20 World Cup campaign.

 David Young, the esteemed psychologist from Manchester City who previously contributed to England's triumphant 2019 World Cup campaign, has returned to the squad for the forthcoming ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024.

Young boasts an impressive track record with Manchester City, having played a significant role in their recent success, including clinching their fourth consecutive Premier League title. Prior to his tenure with the Premier League giants, Young served as the psychologist for the England cricket team from 2016 to 2020, notably during their victorious ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2019 campaign.

Now, Young rejoins the England cricket setup on a temporary basis, where he will serve as part of the support staff for the T20I series against Pakistan and throughout the duration of the Men's T20 World Cup.

Matthew Mott, the white-ball coach for England, expressed confidence that David Young's presence would enhance communication within the team.

"He's been part of the team before and has been instrumental in ensuring clear communication channels," Mott stated. 

"It's beneficial to have someone slightly detached from the squad to ensure that our messages are effectively conveyed... While he continues with other responsibilities, we're fortunate to have him for this series and the beginning of the World Cup."

Following England's lackluster performance in the recently concluded Men's Cricket World Cup in India, Mott aimed to adopt a more transparent approach.

"In light of our disappointing performance in India, we recognize the need for change," Mott commented on England's outcomes in India.

"As a team, we've agreed to adopt a more open approach, particularly during our training sessions, to support each other better.

"In India, we tended to keep to ourselves and tackle issues individually. Now, we've pledged to be more transparent and vulnerable as a group, fostering a culture of mutual assistance."
