**Netherlands Make Key Changes to T20 World Cup 2024 Squad**
The Netherlands has adjusted its squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 due to injuries. Fred Klaassen and Daniel Doram, who were part of the original squad announced on May 13, have been ruled out of the tournament.
Kyle Klein, initially a travelling reserve, and Saqib Zulfiqar have been added to the 15-member squad. Ryan Klein, Kyle's brother, has now been named the first reserve.
Kyle Klein, a right-arm fast bowler, has been added to the Netherlands' T20 World Cup squad despite having only three international matches under his belt since his debut in February this year.
In contrast, Saqib Zulfiqar returns to T20I cricket after nearly five years, his last appearance in the format being in August 2019. Despite his absence from T20Is, Saqib has remained active in the ODI setup and was part of the Netherlands squad for the 2023 Cricket World Cup. The 27-year-old leg-spinner brings valuable experience and variety to the Dutch bowling attack, having played 21 matches for the Netherlands.
**Squad:** Aryan Dutt, Bas de Leede, Kyle Klein, Logan van Beek, Max O'Dowd, Michael Levitt, Paul van Meekeren, Saqib Zulfiqar, Scott Edwards, Sybrand Engelbrecht, Teja Nidamanuru, Tim Pringle, Vikram Singh, Viv Kingma, Wesley Barresi.
The Netherlands is currently preparing for the T20 World Cup with an ongoing T20I tri-series against Scotland and Ireland at home.
They are scheduled to play two warm-up fixtures: against Sri Lanka on May 28 and Canada on May 30, before their tournament opener against Nepal on May 4 in Dallas. The Netherlands is placed in Group D alongside South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Nepal.
