**Historic Moment as Umpires Announced for T20 World Cup Opener**

The full list of match officials for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and USA has been revealed. Shahid Saikat will make history as the first Bangladeshi umpire to officiate at the prestigious men's T20I event. Saikat is set to oversee the opening match on June 1 between the USA and Canada.

Saikat's extensive experience includes officiating five matches at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 and serving on the panel for two ICC Women’s Cricket World Cups as well as the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2018.

 

**Officials Unveiled for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 Opener**

Richard Illingworth, the three-time winner of the David Shepherd Trophy for ICC Umpire of the Year, is set to officiate alongside Shahid Saikat in the opening match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. Richie Richardson will serve as the match referee for this highly anticipated encounter, with Sam Nogajski as the TV umpire and Langton Rusere as the fourth umpire.

Joining Nogajski, four other officials will make their senior men’s tournament debuts next month: Rashid Riaz, Jayaraman Madanagopal, Allahudien Paleker, and Asif Yaqoob.
